Orbarella - The Dream Soother
A downloadable game
About the Game
As night time descends upon the city and its residents fall asleep, many are plagued by nightmares which leave them feeling scared, depressed, anxious, frustrated, angry, or in pain...
You play as Orbarella; a wizard armed with a magical cannon! Fire orbs of healing towards the residents as they dream to soothe their nightmares. Act fast to keep the nightmare level of the city below the red zone or it's game over! Soothe as many dreams as you can before the sun comes up.
The game isn't finished - there's no win condition yet (so the sun doesn't actually come up, the game just plays forever until you lose!) and I also want to implement 3 different difficulty levels and perhaps put in some kind of intro sequence.
Controls:
A / D - Left & right movement
Q / E - Rotate the cannon
Up / Down - Cycle orb colour
Spacebar - Hold to charge the cannon, release to fire the orb
Development Details
I've recently started teaching myself game development and this is my second small practice project, created with the MonoGame framework. I've been posting videos on YouTube from the start of my journey, just click on any of the devlogs at the bottom of this page or visit my channel: Rheyan's Gaming.
GitHub Source Code: Base Project and Orbarella project.
Why two projects? See this post about abstracting common code.

The concept for this game is really creative and it's also fun! 😊 It took me a little bit to get used to, especially since I couldn't find an explanation of the controls anywhere. But I was able to figure it out with just a little experimenting.
Here's my score:
oh wow that's amazing! It's still in very early development so apologies for no instructions! You've played it more than I have, thank you :-D
